twinkle, twinkle little star,
my little man, my light...
my little man, my light...
before you crossed into this world
you anchored yourself inside me...
i was but a shadow of myself,
a mother slipping away,
a wife no longer...
so afraid of enveloping you in my despair,
i focused any remnant of light
i could find
on to you.
you twinkle twinkled inside me
and closed the distance...
in the early morn
i awoke in darkness
alone
yet you were with me.
how quickly
how gently
you joined me on this side...
my little superhero,
my shooting star.
so easy to love.
so easy to smile.
so easy to pull myself
back
into the light
and know
that all
is
right
in
our
world.
you anchored yourself inside me...
i was but a shadow of myself,
a mother slipping away,
a wife no longer...
so afraid of enveloping you in my despair,
i focused any remnant of light
i could find
on to you.
you twinkle twinkled inside me
and closed the distance...
in the early morn
i awoke in darkness
alone
yet you were with me.
how quickly
how gently
you joined me on this side...
my little superhero,
my shooting star.
so easy to love.
so easy to smile.
so easy to pull myself
back
into the light
and know
that all
is
right
in
our
world.

Beautiful!
